Applying harm evidence

Assess patient similarities, patient expectations, and alternative treatments

In relation to the harm evidence that has been critically appraised, ask these questions when making an applied clinical decision based on harm evidence:

1. Is the patient so different from those included in the study that its results cannot apply?

2. What are the patient's preferences, concerns, and expectations from the treatment?

3. What alternative treatments are available?
