When assessing clinicians on appraising clinical evidence, ask the following questions:
1. Are they critically appraising external evidence at all?
2. Is critical appraisal becoming easier for them when trying to answer their clinical questions?
3. Are they becoming more accurate and efficient in applying measures such as likelihood ratios and number needed to treat (NNT)?
4. Are they aggregating the articles yielded from their searches into one collective summary that is readily accessible?
