Predictive validity is the ability of a survey instrument to predict for future occurrences. Correlations are used to generate predictive validity coefficients with other measures that assess a validated construct that will occur in the future. A validity coefficient of 0.3 is assumed to be indicative of evidence of predictive validity. Predictive validity is a type of criterion-related evidence or criterion validity.
