There are three measures of central tendency: Mean, median, and mode. These measures of central tendency are commonly used to describe treatment effects and the values of predictor, confounding, and outcome variables within a sample. When using inferential statistics, p-values are always interpreted within the context of the measures of central tendency like the mean (parametric statistics) or median (non-parametric statistics). Modes can be used as frequencies in descriptive statistics.
