Alternate/parallel forms reliability is really not a feasible choice for applied researchers outside of large testing companies such as Educational Testing Services (ETS). Alternate/parallel forms reliability is a time-consuming and tedious process to conduct methodologically and more times than not, other forms of reliability will be able to answer the research question. Writing two versions of a survey instrument that are exactly similar and correlate at a significant level is very hard to do.
