Purposive sampling
Purposive sampling means seeking out and consenting study participants in a purposeful manner
Purposive sampling is a non-probability sampling method where researchers seek out individuals from a given population of interest that possess certain types of characteristics that are defined as inclusion and exclusion critiera. The "purpose" in purposive sampling means that there is a singular focus on seeking out and sampling every potential member of a given population to which one can gain access. Since members are being sought out in purposive sampling, a lot of observational and selection biases are introduced into the study.
